Revamped gear, allowing high levels of customisation and a mix of playstyles, a skill tree, really open-ended assassination missions, a really interesting world to play around in. I recall bugs, several of them game breaking, and a lacklustre character driving a lacklustre plot, but when I think about the mechanics and the playstyle of the game, I can only really think of good things and interesting advances on my favourite AC game of all time, Black Flag. But I have started to wonder why it missed the mark so resoundingly for me.
